Magnet sizing.
« on: July 15, 2009, 09:40:12 PM »
I'm wondering about bigger magnets.  I see they sell a 4 X 2 X .5 magnet for 18.99  over @ http://www.magnet4sale.com/Neodymium-Magnets-N42-4-x2-x1-2-NdFeB-Rare-Earth-Magnets.html       With bigger magnets we use bigger coils I assume.  Would this affect the heating in the coils.  I'm trying to figure out the benefits, and would it be worth the extra cost.  I'm still in the design phase yet for mine.  Just wondering.
