Borealis is a venture capital company that is putting money into an electric motor that doesn't use magnets, so it is constantly looking for news of the threat to rare earth magnet supplies. That said, it does seem that the western world and Japan has left themselves vulnerable to the whims of the Chinese in regards to these important products.
