Free blade calculator

i didn't try it yet....but i hope it would give some help....


and to anyone out there who is considered as 'pro'....plz download this program and tell us what u think of it.

I compared the results of the Free blade calculator with the MiniCode from the U of Mass

I found that if the angle of attack in increased on the Free Blade calculator, the angles of attack go negative.

I inputed the same numbers into the U of Masss minicodes and the results do not go negative for high angles of attack.

I would not use the Free Blade Calculator to calculate angles of attack on my blade until I found out why the Free Blade Calculator allows the angles to go negative.


The Minicodes were very similar for 6 and 7 degrees of attack.


I prefer the minicode numbers as they do not go negative.

hi

i used the free blade calculator to calculate the the angle of attack and chord for the 1.8 metre tsr : 10 blades.

then i made the blades with the exact angle of attack including the negative ones and exact chord length (approx +/- 0.5mm)


i measured the blade efficiency to be 0.30, which seems to be very close to the typical efficiency of a good 2-bladed turbine (0.3-0.35)


so i figure you need to have these negative angles to achieve high efficiency.


did you or anyone measure the efficiency of the blades made with the MiniCodeOverview.html program?
