follow up from here

http://www.fieldlines.com/story/2004/7/28/152439/834

this was my first one , used my lathe to slot the rotor to fit the Neo's list in previous story , grouped them 4 norths and 4 souths 3 north poles 3 south poles , matched the coils perfect , only a small amount of clogging and at 500 rpm on my lathe one ph puts out 75 volts and lights a 67 watt bulb (that is all I had ) I wired it for 230 volt

Jerry , do you think 4 of your 5 ft blades would be enough and do I need bigger

you might want to toss those little 8amp rectifiers--your alt. will most likly

fry them under a good load..50 amp rectifiers cost only a couple bucks--and

theres  a hole in the center to mount them on a heat sink...glad to hear you

POWERED UP.............

Hey, ADMIN;

Do me a huge favor and shorten that intro line with the html in it it messes up the fp for me and I have to scroll sideways to see the boxes on this laptop.

Thanks.

Sorry you got problems but I'm acctually glad someone

Hi WILD IN ALASKA,

I will order some higher amperage bridge rectifiers online.

I picked these up from Radio Shack for bench testing, they had some 25A ones too, but they were more expensive and not exactly what I was looking for.

One of my concerns is the Voltage Drop, so I hope to find a happy medium that will do the job but still work well under low wind conditions.

Got any good links for places to look online?

Thanks for the suggestion,

arc
