Wacky windmills....Wacky lawnmowers?
« on: August 19, 2004, 05:16:27 PM »
....I just became aware of them about a month ago when I happened to see one at a Sears store....

http://www.friendlyrobotics.com/ done a look-up in Google and was thinking wouldn't it be nice to charge batteries with the wind on something like this....then a picture flashed in my mind...

Direct drive from a HAWT!

I can just picture a Lenz turbine on top of a Robomower type machine mowing out on Ed's farm...mowing whenever the wind was blowing.

( You started this Ed with your wacky windmills posting!

                Gad! I love this stuff!

I wish I had more time this summer, that sounds like a great idea LOL!   Have you been checking the tip speed ratio manually with a handheld wind meter?

I've been watching my concrete harden so its been a busy day...
