Here is something intresting I found today, and great pics on how it works. Might be tricky to build.

   Basically a double rotor design made a little harder for a home-brew project I really see no advantage over a double rotor alternator especially when they mention brushes and commutators besides a 3-phase single rotor works best anyway....

    The animation does look neat and dazzle-ing!

    Just my 2 cents.
