nice motor

Greetings,

Met the motor guy at our neighbouring town and he has given me access to his used parts room! Got lots of arc mags and a really nice Magnetek dc conveyor motor; free for the taking. He's got every part imaginable....hubs included!

The Magnetek in question is amazing. It's got a 1" shaft with excellent bearings (cont duty) brushless...no cogging...just a big fat spark when I twist it 1 turn. Can't find a serial # and I don't have my dig camera handy...rats. I would love to know what it's rated at. I'll post a pic soon....10" long 5" diam.

I'm going to hook it up to my pvc blades with the alum spars. Still spinning well with a mod ac delco with neos....haven't had any probs since the last post though I moved the spars to the rear and shortened them to 10". As well I turned the last foot of this 8' tri blade into thin  spars like hornet blades and did alot more sanding for profile. Very pleased with these blades! I made an 'identical' set from the zub blade calc. with standard entries (25-7) and was disapointed. My blades have a steeper angle from root to the last foot with an abrupt switch to the end spars which go neg. at the tips. The aluminum spars show no signs of distress (and we've seen high winds this winter) though I'll def use this steel next time. As far as the delco is concerned...the bearings are now shot...it rubs, but consistently spits out 10 or so amps when the tree branches start swaying...lol...Hoping this Magnetec will be alot better.

Will post some recent pics soon.

Ciao

Tom
