5 foot composite plug completed
« on: June 01, 2007, 12:28:01 PM »
For anyone that is still interested, the composite plug that I have been working on for some months is finially built.  Now we are onto building the shadow box and the molds. For more details on the project itself, check my previous posts.

Sidenote, the Duratek surface coat is amazing.  I would recomend Duratek to anyone that is doing a similar project.

What is DURATEK for you. ?.

I know DURATEK as "Pre-cast concrete wall" material with a fine surface finish.

So please give detailed information to know what you mean and the type and the characteristics of the material you are using.

I did a Google search and it comes with Duratek pre-cast concrete walls to replace bricks.

You, still, keep us away from your "secret" material, Google does not link anything to duratec.

Why don't you tell us step-by-step who produces it, where is available, what type of material it is, and if a web page is available, what the link it is, etc and all the Etc necessary to be able to know and examine the material that could do wonders with the wind mills.

Indeed, I am quite interested about it.

Nice looking blade, that defiantly puts my skills to shame, my wood blades could be used as saws ;). Good luck with the remainder of your project, I'll be watching.

The product we used for the 5 foot blade is: Duratec polyester surface primer. Most if not all fiberglass supply houses will carry it. We bought it from Fibreglast Development. Website: www.fibreglast.com

After spraying the Duratec, the blade was wet-sanded with 220, 600, and 1000 grit paper and coated with mold release wax and polished.

If I was trying to keep it a secret, I wouldn't have mentioned it by name.   I think your google is broken.

Beautiful work. I agree with using my wood blades for a saw (or a rasp).

I'm still interested in the trial.

The best way to "kill time" is to work it to death!
