 I have been visiting this site for many years and have learned a lot by being here. I have a 10' machine that has been bench tested but needs a set of blades and has never been flown. I also made a small 4' wind mill with a PM motor with chain drive, put up a 40' crank-up tower with a data logging weather station. I enjoy the challenge. I thought today as a newbie I would post a couple pictures of my projects.

That's not Magnet wire is it, looks like normal brown insulated wire ?  ???

yes it is motor wire 15 gauge. wound 2 in hand 37 turns

Proweatherstation by Tycon power.  I like it so far. low price and no problems. I purchased from Pasadena networks in so cal.

I have also been reading here for a long time and actually signed up last year. Windmills have always fascinated me ( I think it's the fact that you can see something being moved without seeing what's moving it ). I'm still gathering up material for a 7 footer from the Dan's book. Can't wait to get one up. Good luck on the 10' er and thanks again.

stainless steel angle and all thread. Ford T bird front wheel axle and rotors, exact year unknown they were cheap at the wrecking yard.  Yeah I know, I would not do it this way again either but this project was started a long time ago. Before people were cutting flat discs to build with.

Here's my start. A piece 3" sch.40 pipe 3-5/8" long with a 2-1/2" hole bored.

I actually wanted to use this opportunity to test a pic post.
