wind thread by chris olsen(windings)
« on: April 11, 2010, 07:01:14 PM »
I was reading the answers and what Chris was suggesting about "4 in hand" is this like a bi-filar winding.............I seen something once about using the same length of wire to make an electromagnet ....where you wind the entire length start to finish..........or you cut the wire into 2 equal lengths and wind them toegther then attach end of first to beginning of second...........same amount of wire but second one is twice as strong........is this true                                                                                                                                                                                                                            constantly looking for answers...........thanx all

No , four in hand is four equal lengths , wound together, at the same time, in parallel.
