I am sure it can be done in todays digital world, but does anybody know anything about using an inverter to "suppliment" my grid power? I am interested in posibly using solar or wind power to cut my electric bill a bit. Am I asking about technology that doesnt exist yet?

its called a grid tie or grid interactive inverter do a Google search. you have to have permission from your electric company to hook one up and they require a bunch of forms in triplicate, charge you fees and in some cases make you have liability insurance.
