120VAC conversion to 24VDC Fridge
« on: July 25, 2009, 10:54:08 PM »
I found this Honeywell 1.8 square feet fridge that ran on 120VAC 65W.

I took it home and the fans just osillated as did the LED inside the fridge. I removed a 3 wire plug that had somthing to do with the temp control because I ran it for 2 hours and it was getting cold.

The fans started to spin slowly now, but the LED on the temp control was now off.

I traced a few wires and everything on the fridge was converted to DC.  The fans ran at 6V but on the board it said should be 12V and several other wires running into the fridge measured 17VDC.  Since it seems the AC side of the board is at fault, and I don't have a clue how to fix it would it be possible to run this on batteries?

We really need more information.

You could start by giving us the model number off the nameplate.
