Grid Tied Solar/Wind Question
« on: March 15, 2005, 01:54:54 AM »
Here is a silly question I suppose, on a battery free grid tied system, what happnes during a blackout?  Will the inverter switch off automatically or will you experience a brown-out with power only when the sun is out, or wind is blowing, then fading out as though someone had a giant dimmer switch for your house?  I know its probably a silly question but I was just curious.

The inverter shuts off. If it is sunny and windy out and the power company goes down, you loose power as well.
