24v and 48 volt generators.
« on: March 23, 2005, 04:28:08 PM »
Hello all,

I was wondering what people do with their 24v and 48v generators?

Comercially available inverters only seem to come in 12v flavours.

So are the 24v and 48v bulders using homebrew inverters? Or are they

running things on the raw dc battery voltage.

Many thanks,

Marco Miglionico.

This is simply not true. Many commercial units are built for both 24 and 48 volt sources. You must be only looking at cheap stuff.

Outback and Xantrex [Trace] make them for sure.

Cheers.

Exeltech also has inverters from 12volts to 108 volts input DC and all voltages in between

Thanks for the info. Indeed I was looking at

(very) cheap inverters sub 300W at around £30.00.

I'm hoping Tom and Don will have thier verter done before I get my genny finished. I would like to switch 48(or even higher)but inverters and CCs get quite up there in price.
