I've just come across an electronic voltage regulator in a lucas ('as 14'model number) car alternator.
It appears to have a mosfet on the circuit. This is the first common device that I have found that has a decent mosfet on it, so i'm a bit excited.
Mosfet has no markings on it so I cant find out what its rating is. The circuit board cover says 'ingram 831200' did a google search but nothing much by way of specs to find. anyone got any info on car alternator regulator circuits, how they work with a mosfet (well i'm sort of guessing its a mosfet) and if they might be useful for a windgennie.
Also it has some brushes which go onto a brass sleeve around the axle which looks good for windgennie to allow rotation around a tower using brushes. (like bruce pickers set up).
