Can I Convert This Ebay Item?
« on: July 20, 2005, 02:56:02 AM »
I'm just getting in on this and my first thought is to build a shunt/charge controller.  Then my second thought was to convert one:

Could I convert something like this for my 400 watt wind generator?  Yes, yes I know I have more reading to do. BUT I'm going to do this......

Thanks,

Charlane

Personally I'm pretty cheap. I'll make-do and rig-up and experiment with most

components of my system.

If the load diverter fails you can trash your batteries. If you have a battery bank big enough to handle 400 watts correctly then you are gambeling quite a few $'s. I

use a Trace C-40 and don't worry about it.

I'm confused.  The item indicated appears to be a meter with a shunt resistor.  This is a high current amp meter not a regulator.  You can use this for monitoring the current and not regulating.

Great.  I posted the wrong one.  It's back to ebay.
