Hook-up
« on: September 23, 2005, 10:28:15 PM »
Have a 24 volt solar system and i need a few questions answered. Presently buying the pieces to put this project together and i have purchased a hornet wind turbine and wondering if i should hook it up directly to the batteries or do the outback inventor like my back up generator is? Also, should i get some blocking diodes and a turn off switch to put into the system. Thanks

but use a fuse. Unless you have continuas winds over 30 mph there very littel chance the Hornet will cause any over charging.

I know I own and fly a Hornet. If you do get good wind hope you like noise. Hornet says 800 watts the most I could get was 300 watts and that was at 50 mph. Nothing at 10 mph.

There was a post here the other day with a link to some tests that were done on small wind generators.

The Hornet did not fair so well and I concer with that test and review. I only wish you woulda done your home work first.

There claims are ridiculous and the actul output is small and the noise is a pain.

All of the above is my opinion and expirience.
