treadmill motor

thanks for the quick responce.ok the tach wires dont have to be connected for motor to run as gen(i took the belt off and put a voltmeter to it it put out)wont run as a motor though when the tach wires are not conn.to answer your responce to how many wires 4 2tach,2 leads so i guess i will ignore the tach wires.Well annother look at the pully and i dont think i can use it the pulley(flange has 4 webs if you know what i mean.i wanted to drill and tap for 3 blades.its cast so i wont be welding annything to that.LOOKING FOR ANNOTHER MOTOR.its all good,is that what they call a learning curve!?have a great day    Gary
