UPS for inverter
« on: September 30, 2007, 11:30:59 PM »
I have a UPS 950 watt 24 volt input that was relegated to the scrap yard. Upon inspection the batteries were shot. Good for me!!! My question is how good are these things when used as strictly an inverter? I removed the power in cord and use PV panel for charging directly to the batteries. I come across quite a few of these ranging from 300 to 1500 watts, all at the best price around. I really hate to see good equipment in the trash can!!

I think if you did a decent search you would find all kinds of comments on UPS units as inverters. I'd just tell the results but, I'd hate to ruin the story you will get looking through several dozen posts.
