Low volatge grid tie
« on: January 21, 2008, 04:07:20 AM »
Hi: Short one. I am looking for a low voltage DC input, ideally 24VDC nominal grid tie inverter with 220VAC 60HZ out in the 1 to 3KW range. The ones I can find, Sunny Boy, Xantrax and Outback seem to be 50HZ at the 220VAC out level. They are all the inverter/charger variety, the charger part is of no use to me but I am sure it can be easily disabled on all the models. Has anybody found any other fitting the above specs???

Look on eBay, but go to the bottom of the eBay page and select some country in Europe. Usually the frequency difference between 50 & 60 hz doesn't matter. What do you want to power with your inverter ?

Hi: DO you mean power with it or what will be feeding it..??.. Its grid tie so it powers everything at 220VAC... in a sense...

Here is a link to a post that is a few weeks old dealing with what you may want..

Or the link most likely to be of interest to you is..

These have the lowest input voltage vs power rating that I can come up with off the top of my head. But may be a bit higher than you want I think on the order of 25 or 36 volts at the lowest, although 24 volt charge sources are in that range.
