3 phase voltage doubler

I'm trying to build this doubler http://www.fieldlines.com/story/2006/6/19/143035/964 and I was wondering if I could substitute  D7,D8 and D9 with the old press fit negative car alternator diodes. I have 6 positive and 6 negative already pulled. I was going to "Jerry rig" it to try to get cut-in sooner but I'm not crazy about running 3 more wires (far away). If it stalls the blades I'll just use it to charge 24v bank.

I could be wrong but I have a feeling the press stud diodes used in vehicle alternators have a low voltage rating. Thats OK in a controlled environment with a regulator and battery keeping things in check, but for a wind application, if the windmill were allowed to free wheel, the high voltage could fry the stud diodes.

But other than that, they should work fine.
