wind-solar-hydro controllers
« on: May 28, 2010, 03:38:34 AM »
I have a built a plan to build a small wind-solar-hydro controller, with builtin UPS(online),Surge protector,AC and DC compatibilities,power amplifiers,Voltage range from 1.5 to 50v.
I don't now how Li-ion charge controllers, uninteruppted power supplies and  inverters work.
If know resources or how they work, please tell me.
And I using a PIC Microcontroller, how can I send AC through its pins without destroying it?
Thanks  :)

Very broad set of questions.

Why would you want to send AC to IO pins on a PIC?

Best start looking at various existing means of power control.

It is not at all difficult to control 100,000W of AC or DC, with a 5V 0.000,005A signal.

It is not necessary to know how UPS or inverters work.  Just need to know they do work.
It is not practical to build one.

Think modular.  Buy the stuff that does what needs done.

I now where components are sold, but i don't where all the equipment are sold.and i want to market one.i can give you a picture of the internal parts, pinout, and how it looks(its paper, since its only a prototype now).
and i now PICmicro and electronics, and i want to learn something out of it(i have book full of prototypes for gadgets),but i don't have a scanner.

I am not clear about the question.

You want someone to design the system so you can market it?

You can monitor the AC .
If you know the frequency ,the voltage and the current in a line , that is pretty much all ya need to know about an AC signal.

There are many zero crossing circuits on the web. Counting the number of zero crossings in a particular time frame and using  F=1/T will tell ya the frequency.
You can use a IC for the AC Voltage which will output a BCD number that can be read by the PIC.
For Current use a Hall sensor which outputs a small voltage proportional to the current, and use a PIC  analog input line to measure this millivolt voltage.

That, my friend, is my assessment of this. I suggest you browse this new users' other posts to get a feel for how much he / she understands even basic electrical theory.

Its all right here posted in the last day or so.

Tom.

If I may suggest some light reading material.
I do not wish to offend, but your questions seem to lack direction.

Most of the time I try NOT to post external links and I'm hoping the mods do not mind too much this one time, BUT have a read over here " http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/ "
OD as TomW stated have a good read in the newbie section and peruse ALL the other sections here, then come back we'll help where we can but  we need more clearly stated questions.

Cheers;

I will scan the papers with the internal parts, how it looks, and pinout, and post a link tommorow or day after tommorow. ;)

That is a very good idea, picture we like, they really do help tons.. with 1000 eyes there's stuff people can pick out 1 or 2 would miss.
Have fun too!
