sun spots and solar flares
« on: June 10, 2010, 09:50:15 PM »
There has been talk of increased sun spot activity going through its normal cycle and increasing.  I know it can disrupt communications and satellites, does anyone know if it can it also cause problems for my solar panels?

No, it won't affect your panels.  It affects satellites because they're outside the protection of our atmosphere.  It affect the power grid because of the long wires (miles) and they're ability to pick up an induced current.
