Regulator

Hi guys I think I have a faulty regulator cause batteries are charged as usual. Is it ok to disconnect batteries while panel is stil attached to regulator?
How can I be sure that regulator is ok?

What Kind of Charge controller do you have ?
How many watts of panels/turbines do you have ?

Batteries will hold the voltage of your system down to approximately the battery voltage. If you disconnect the battery, your system will rise up to the open circuit voltage of your Panels/Turbine. This could make your system Self Destruct . . .

Thanks Woofer for response I meant that they are not being charged as usual. I have a 13wpanel to a small regulator charging a bank of batties.
My question was if one disconnects the batteries while panel is in the sun does one damage the regulator?

If you are using a regulator from a car or other vehicle then it won't work anyway.
If you are not charging your battery up to full voltage everyday, then you battery capacity will decrease.
Without more information about your battery and charge controller, I am only guessing.
