DIY - Homebrew portable solar station idea
« on: July 26, 2010, 05:35:09 PM »
Hello all old friends, my first post on the new forum.

This is something I have been working on for a while, a super simple, and portable solar station available to all.

I suspect anyone on this forum can make one themselves for not much money, it is designed on readily available parts the world over.
The universaly exported China produced £20 ($30) sack truck (hand truck or whatever) being the basis of it, a solar PV panel and a polypropylene battery box being the balance of the components.

The nearest equivelant is, The Harvesterâ„¢ Micro-Utility System and costs, wait for it, $2500.00 and even more with the inverter option  :o
A great product I don't doubt, just a little pricey for what it is in my opinion.

I have published a more detailed page on the Homebrew portable solar station idea on the site.
