Pushbutton LED lights from DollarTree
« on: August 22, 2010, 04:30:11 PM »
I was wondering if any of you ppl have used these and how long they have lasted for you?
for a $1 I figure they are a bargain.
I have used them hooked in a series of 3 to 12 volt Ni Cads
they seem to draw about a total of 45Ma.
Only one drawback is that one may be defective and then
they turn orange for about 3 or 4 seconds and then they're gone gone gone !
I've made 6 sets and only had this last one fail so 1 out of 6 isn't bad odds
Maybe a small resistor in series would ensure better results?

anyhow this is my quick way of hooking them up
dummy batteries from sawed to length wood dowels
with bared wire under a thumbtack for the terminals.
Have fun and I hope the pics show up.??
If they don't ......help !   Kurt? Tom ? Woofer ?  anybody? LOL

110 ohm 1/2W resistor should keep the orange and smoke away.
I will dig around a bit...

Thanks for the heads up. I just grabbed some of those yesterday. I haven't even opened the packages yet, but sure will tonight!!

I'll have a look too.

The Crisps are tasty snacks too huh  ;D
