magnet template for 12" rotor
« on: October 28, 2010, 08:00:49 PM »
Does anyone have a 12 magnet template for 12" 4 hole rotors they would like to "rent" for a few weeks?

Yea I'm cheap. It seems like $32 for a 1 use item is excessive. If no one has one I can use I will make one out of something.

What you need is here. It is courtesy of Hugh Piggott.

Look at page 26 and 27.

Thanks Ralph,

I have that book and Hugh's new book. I had forgotten the old one that had the 1/4 template pattern. The new book doesn't have it.

If you go to Walmart or one of the dollar stores, get a cheap plastic place mat or thin cheap cutting mat.
You can make your template that will withstand a little use and abuse but will not cost a lot.
I found a package of 3 kitchen cutting mats (they are too thin to be called cutting boards) for less than $3 US.

There is a problem with the template in the book and in the electronic document. It is not to scale. 2" isn't, 4" isn't, 6" isn't. It is close but not quite. Obviously it was scaled to fit the page before publication. I can make it work but I think I will use Hughs method of measuring from his new book for best accuracy.
