From reading the title, most people would doubt you could make this work, but after watching this video, I was shocked at how well this guy made this wood burning push mower  :D

It starts out slower and after several takes, it goes faster and faster.

Steam powered lawn mowers were done long ago.

Pretty interesting concept.

Just needs a few more ponies into the blade and it might work  ;D

Is that just a common 2 stroke or a 4 stroke gas motor reworked?

I would go with wood gas myself simply as it seems safer than a pot of boiling contained water in my face.

Great stuff to fool with.

Beats TV!

He should have converted a reel-type mower like the antiques mentioned in the thread here. Those need less power to cut common lawn grass effectively. I mow my lawn with a push reel type. There is no way I could provide enough power pushing to make a rotary blade mower work properly.
