Not the slightest puff of wind all month
« on: January 01, 2011, 01:41:43 PM »
I thought the winter months would yield the best winds, not so here in the U.K. for over a month in my central location.
My wind turbine is static  :o  - It usually spins constantly (axial flux design - no cogging).

It makes me think, maybe wind farms are not the answer for sustained renewable power requirments !!
Maybe we do need a reliable back up, dare I say it, nuclear  :-[

Keep the faith Ben.  Nice looking machine, even if it's not spinning.  Maybe no wind, but U.K. has had lots of "other"
weather.

Hi

I don't know where your central location in the UK is but in North East Wales today we have just had the best wind here for over a month, and from the only direction that work for me without trying to shake the tail off.
