40A 290V FETs? pc boards
« on: July 19, 2011, 06:27:16 PM »
I have 20 of these they need a +/- 15 volt supply that I also have. I want to use some of them for a controller. I haven't been able to get a spec sheet for the FET's? I think that from the #s IXTM40N29 on them they are 40A 290V.The fuses are 25A. They are from a pulse generator. any ideas?

they are probably IGBTs.
can you identify if the gate drive is bypolar? if the gate is sucked down to -15 or even -5 during turn off they are most likely igbts. of course you can check the on resistance yourself without a lot of work.
the part number itself doesn't look like a typical fet part number but i can't find anything.
in any case, 4 of those would make a nice 6kw inverter.
My wife says I'm not just a different colored rubik's cube, i am a rubik's knot in a cage.
