Odd Summer

   After the lightning caused a bit of havoc, I bought a new weather station, one that I can log the data from.
   Just a couple of months, so nothing to base any decisions on, but terrible as far as wind goes.
   Trying to attach, not sure if it will work.
    Anyway, data so far says wind is not a great idea.  Don't care all that much, parts bought, money spent
(at least most of it), so I'll proceed.  Even if the only reason is that "windmills are funner to watch"
    Just checked and it did work, kind of hard to read, but, the wind speed is in Kph.

I agree the watching is often the best of it.

What is the sample rate on the wind logging?

Many places like here the summer months are the worst for wind. Fall and winter seem more productive for turbines. Maybe with the onset of winter you will get an increase?

Can I ask which weather station you got?

  Hey Tom.   Sample rate is 15 sec.  Logs to the computer every 15 min. as a 15 min. average.
   Usually (since 2005) summer is better than this, although all I did before was kept track of amps.
   Hopefully Winter will be more consistent, but I am keeping in mind that this is a pretty short snapshot on things.
   Bought LaCrosse again.  Not the best, but durable, (except for getting hit by lightning) and they have
been really good about support so far.
   In the scheme of things, I am going to complete the 10 footer anyway, just to do it.
   It does possibly mean that PV will be a heavier emphasis.
