I'v posted pics and video on here before of my hundred watt turbine mounted in a covert in my small stream. So most of you are probaly fimilair with my setup. The creek has a series of beaver dams up stream. Some holding back very big ponds over a kilometer long.
This fall was very dry here so the creek was still very low in late november. So I desided to take my turbine out of the covert and clean everything out before the winter weather hit. There was only about six inches of water going through the covert. Not even enough to spin the turbine. So I removed the turbine and laid down on the covert and cleaned it out. Then reinstalled everything. And walked up out of the ravine to my battery shed. I just stepped inside when I heard something roaring down the valley I jumped outside just in time to see a four foot high wall of water crash over the top of the dam. I ran and grabed the camera and shot some video of it. The power of the water was amazing. I thought for sure that my dam and turbine where going to be gone. Even my post with the rectifire on it went under water. but every thing survived ok.
The video is shot at two locations about three hundred feet apart. The first part is where my hydro ram was installed (it was all ready removed for the season) and the second part of the video was shot looking straight down on my dam. You can actually see my rectifire
post dissapear underwater.
