Looking for Jacobs 2.5 to 3kW generator <--Completed--->
« on: February 21, 2012, 07:54:26 PM »
I'm looking for an old Jacobs 2.5 or 3kW generator. Single/double commutator or voltage output is not of concern to me, I'm just looking for the longer case style. If you have the rest of the system to go along with it, Great! If not, all I really need is a generator with the case still in tact.

The closer to Minnesota and the Twin Cities area it is the better, but distance isn't necessarily an issue.

Drop me an email at steve@jacobswind.net if you've got one for sale or know someone who does.

Steve, did you ask Joe Straley?  When it comes to Jakes in the Midwest if he don't have it or know where it is, it probably don't exist.

Thanks for the heads up Chris. I have heard Mr. Straley's name come up before, and you raised a good point.

Oh, and I'd like to change the request to what I originally meant, "looking for Jacobs  2.5 to 3kW". If someone has a 2.8 that'd be entirely welcome as well

Steve, Joe has been installing and servicing Jacobs turbines for better than 25 years.  There is nothing he does not know about Jakes.  He lives in Avon - has a 31-20 by his shop.  His contact info should be in WTIC's dealer contact listing under Aqua-Gen.

Don't have a generator. Have lots of extra parts, slip rings, slip ring brushes, post/saddle, tail spring, upper bearing, lower bearing...... If interested, send me a e-mail. You pay shipping it's yours.

I looked at the pictures, figured that one was meant for your own use. Idaho is a bit of a drive for me, but if I end up passing that way for other reasons I'd be more than down to drop by. Shoot me an email and we can talk more.

Thanks to everyone that has replied! I have found more than enough generators and parts to get up and running and plan to start cleaning them up soon after being delayed for the past couple of months.
