Hauled a load of aluminum in this morning, and a load of lead out, pretty much broke even, which leaves me broke for the weekend
.
Yep they are 8D batteries, and there might be some more next week
. So now I need to decide where to house these, I think I have a good spot, but I'd like your opinions. Its a sound/explosion proof trailer, approx 6' wide, 8' long, 7' interior height, originally used by USAF for turbine/jet engine testing, of course in its original purpose the anticipated explosion happened outside the box, people that wanted to live were inside the box
. Walls/roof/floor/door all 3/16 to 1/4 inch steel plate, door is exterior padlockable, 2 small windows, one in door, one in wall, both triple layered glass, window in wall is the only one large enough for a person to fit through, a couple of bars could fix that. Ventillation could be done with a little work, it originally had a 400hz ac unit, we scrapped that and patched the hole, I could remove patch, fab an elbow and put one of those whirrly attic ventilation fans in. There is another hole at almost floor height, it was where all the engine control cables entered, years ago we put an A/C unit in there, remove a/c (not used for years)and put in some thermostaticly controlled louvers.
Downside is interior walls are perforated sheet metal, hmm, maybe aluminum. Although floor is metal, it has a carpet over it, ceiling is the same perforated metal, there is sound deadening insulation between perforated metal and heavy exterior metal skin. Battery acid is corrosive to metal, and electricity loves metal. Its a stout secure box, its moveable, and best of all I already have it. Opinions?
