All i know is it once powered a sawmill....no idea where it was made....age....brand etc.....

It's not obvious from the pic. How big is that thing?
I'm wondering if that is a turbine wheel or some kind of deflector plate...

I saw something like this at a small hydro plant near Nelson BC. In the picture it was on the rotating shaft of the generator and was used to scoop air into generator to help to keep it cool.

It looks like the turbine itself, a reaction wheel but not of the Francis design. It is simpler, and much steeper in bucket angle, maybe locally made to accommodate flow and head conditions at the sawmill.

Its about 4-1/2' tall....im guessing 7-800 pounds.....
By all local accounts its easily 100 years old......
