I've used a MSW inverter on fridges and freezers for ~3 years and not had any problems (except that the big chest freezer needs more power to start than the inverter can supply - I start that one on grid and switch to the inverter).

I have ran my 5.1CF chest on a MSW now for some time as a fridge with no issues thus far.
