NiFe batteries
« on: October 09, 2012, 08:48:03 AM »
A link under solar cells to a Chinese manufacturing site is very intersting.

Endless magnets, some gold plated, some epoxy coated.

Batteries, NiFe. There is only one plant that I know of(that does not say a great deal), requested a quote for quantity one, if reasonable will order one which is the same size as those I have.

Assuming this goes okay, I will post photos of what arrives.

Here is a manufacturer in Dillon Montana for Nickel Iron Batteries:

I just bought 20 of the 250's for  a 24V bank for the off-grid system I'm building.  Anyone have any ideas on wiring a 6KW inverter to the house breaker panel.  I have 2.5kw solar, 8kw Generac, and the big Aims 6kw pure sine split phase inverter/charger.  I'm obviously new here, but have been puttering with a smaller modified sine 5kw with flooded LA deep-cycle batteries.  I'm upgrading from a back-up to being able to be off-grid when ovomit pulls the pin on the grid, or the pole shifts, or the emp's, ad infinitum.  Looking forward to getting to know you guys, mod, if this needs to go in another thread, do it.

To use the aims inverter on the house panel you need a transfer switch and sub panel. Can usually find them as a unit.
