Using Aluminum Instead of Steel
« on: May 29, 2014, 10:37:53 PM »
It's been a long time, but I'm back.  I ran across a product called alluminoy.  Not spelling right, but it's like soldering aluminum together.  My question is, has anyone tried to replace all the steel parts with aluminum?  With the exception of the bearing and hub and magnet plate

I used something similar on an antenna, parts were falling off from vibration cracking the solder(that is what it is) joints within 3 months. It is not a substitute for welding on high stress areas.
