Battery ah rate
« on: February 25, 2019, 10:55:12 PM »
Hello guys. I have 4.   6-85-13 batteries rate at 6hr and 20hr ah. The 20hr is 510ah in the spring I will be converting to 24v currently 12v parallel. So would it be roughly 2040ah 24v for bank size?  Reason is thinking of getting two more batts get up to 3000ah ish.   current batteries are two years old only see use on weekends so not a lot of cycles  dam cold up here in Canuck land  thanks for any advise

If you have 4 12 Volt, 510 Ah batteries in parallel, it gives you a bank of 12 Volt, 2040 Ah.

The same 4 batteries in series/parallel to make a 24 Volt bank, gives you 1020 Ah at 24 Volt.

The total available energy will be the same; around 24 kWh... :)

If the batteries are in a cold place, do make sure that the charger temperature compensates... And if they are seldom cycled, try to run an equalize now and then... ;)
