BMS for Lipo
« on: March 04, 2019, 09:15:16 AM »
Hi,
I have been given 84 CALB 90ah Lipo cells 3.2v each from a electric car.
They are eight years old and I would like to use them to make a 48v pack for our offgrid home.
So the question is dos anyone know where I could get a BMS for this or am I wasting my time.

Don't know where in the world you are, but here are one example: https://www.ev-power.eu/Battery-Management/BMS123-Smart/

Eirbyte's profile says "Ireland", so your link to ev-power is probably good, Simen.

Ah, didn't think of checking his profile. ;)

Never tried that BMS123 system, but it seems nice. I've shopped some smaller BMS/SBM from them that works fine, so the company are good enough, i guess... ;)

Thanks interesting site. I ordered one for 12v to try it out in the camper van first.

The BMS123 kit? or one of the simple SBM? Please, do report back on how it works. :)
