Elitech RC-5 temperature data logger hack
« on: July 09, 2019, 03:28:04 PM »
I just hacked one of these.  I made the temp sensor external and I have the plug in option of doing event monitoring or limited voltage monitoring.  Far better deal than a voltage data logger at five times the price. Charting program is nice. I'm getting some data now on the water heater. With remote sensor you can get into small places and don't have to subject battery to 55C temps. Not bad for $10.

One of these?

No one believes the theory except the one who developed it. Everyone believes the experiment except the one who ran it.
System spec: 135w BP multicrystalline panels, Xantrex C40, DIY 10ft (3m) diameter wind turbine, Tri-Star TS60, 800AH x 24V AGM Battery, Xantrex SW4024

That is the 5+, only the color changes. With the external sensor you can keep it logging and still download the data.  This is a couple days of my water heater. Time and year are way off due to removal of battery. I didn't download the new time before logging.
