What should a battery look like inside
« on: June 05, 2021, 11:04:32 AM »
Here is a picture of my surrette rolls s550 plates.  They don't look great to me, but i don't really know what I'm looking at. 14140-0
They seem to perform as they always have.  Just looking for comments on the picture.  The cells all seem pretty even and bubble evenly when charging.

I know, get a hydrometer and check the cells.  One of these days i better do that.

Your picture looks great ,resolution etc.

There is one thing rings like a bell,

We have good amount on this topic that already exists on the database. I thought it was PTFE? is was food additive like MSG?

search for DE-SULVATION. Your picture is good one for sulvation of the plates.

I think they should look like this.

Lead's good but black holes man..they'd never need charging!

Rolls wanna be Boilededd...If they're 5°C they oughta be seeing 63V absorptions.

When I was in collage we used a specific gravity meter to check battery state of charge there was something sulfuric, electrolyte. So dumping a battery was bad because it released all the calcium lead plates.

Ya so 4 months ago i turned absorb down to 59.5v from 60v because i thought i was using more water than necessary.  I put it back to 60v now.

It is hot here now so they are more like 25c  so they wil be right on 60v
