report KD 382 about an alternative VIRYA-4.2 rotor available

Report KD 382 can be copied for free from my website: www.kdwindturbines.nl at the menu KD-reports. The title of this report is: "Calculations executed for an alternative rotor of the VIRYA-4.2 windmill (lambda design = 7.5, Gö 711-10% airfoil)". The first version of this report from June 2008, describes the matching and the Pel-V curve for 48 V battery charging for the generator rectified in star. This report also gives a strength calculation of the steel strip which connects both rotor blades.

Recently chapter 7 and 8 were added in which the matching and the Pel-V curves are given for 24 V battery charging for rectification in delta and in star. The Pel-V curve, the cut-in wind speed and the maximum power depend strongly on the voltage and the way of rectification. In the new chapter 9 it is investigated how star or delta rectification influences the starting wind speed.
