New member with a few questions.
« on: August 28, 2023, 03:17:31 PM »
Thank you for allowing me to join!  I had a friend contact me about a Jacobs Wind Electric Turbine he has.  It's a model #45 and is 32 volt with a 50ft tower.  Is there any use for a wind generator like this?  He has had it for about 5 years.  It's located in western Kansas (15 miles east of the KS/CO border).  I did a Google search and found a few old articles about Jacobs Wind Electric, but not much info if they can still be used or not.   Thank again!  Jon Patton ("Rusty Relics" on Facebook Western Kansas)  Tribune, KS. 67879

Welcome aboard!!
Well, it all depends on what you are wanting to do and your site.
Out central KS and OK panhandle way, most lands are clear enough that a 50Ft tower might be okay.
IF your site has trees buildings, etc then you need to get above those.
Also your mechanical/electrical abilities will come into play.

Give us a bit more info on what your plans are and we should be able to assist.
Cheers

The owner of the charger just wants to sell it.   He is not physically able to use it, and I know little about it.  We are just trying to determine if someone would be able to use it and what it's worth.  He has the entire 50ft tower (broken down), the generator, and blades.  Generator turns freely, blades are weathered.  Thanks again  JP
