Emailed back and forth with him on pricing for some blades... and general chit chat about wind turbines... nice guy with a LOT of knowledge!

Thank you for sharing that news, sad though it is. 
I haven't participated much on the Backshed for years so this is a surprise.

About 15 years ago both PhillM and I were building PICLOG dataloggers, and giving Gizmo lots of feedback about it.
He went for extruded blades (I stuck with carved laminated wood) and he was very successful with his choice.
