Good Storage Battery?
« on: February 26, 2005, 02:24:32 AM »
I hope the answer is what I want to hear.  I ran across one of these batteries

in a surplus situation.  It has never had acid in it, and the price seemed right ($100US).  I bought it.

Following are a few specs:

Thanks for input.

You bet! That battery has about the same capacity as 16 T-105's that a lot of people here would be very happy to have. Of course, it's twice as heavy as those batteries but you have a lot more lead in the plates and more room below them. Very nice find and, at that price, I'd buy more if you can.

A local battery dealer has new forklift batteries like yours for around $1600!  With a little care, it will last for many years. Great buy!

I just noticed that your battery is rated at the 6 hr rate so it's really more like 20 or 24 T105's. Excellent find!

I'm jealous, It's a great find.  Those higher Antimony batteries tend to self discharge slightly faster than the higher Calcium ones, but they can tolerate a ton of abuse.  Wish I had a couple, or more, like that at that price.  Rich Hagen
