The coils seem to be to large for the magnets, or I can't see the picture very well.

Hi Fred, what size/ type mags were used? Beautifull workmanship! I'm sure this definately got the boy interested in your projects! You may have a new helper! Gary D.

Cool page Fred, thanks for sharing!

Is that a neighbor your helping along... or your brother perhaps?  It's very nicley done...

Is he fixin' to raise it permanently somewhere?  It'd be fun to hear how it performs.

Thanks!

If I ever figure out what's in the box then maybe I can think outside of it.

Wow, thank you all for the great and kind comments out their. We used 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2 magnets, I beleive it was like 30 or so magnets for 2 rotors. The output was very very good, when turned by hand you would get about 15 vdc, when connected to a standard small drill it was like 50 or 60 vdc and about 1-3 amps. The project took place 3 months ago. I only got permission to post this week. This project was for a friend of mine, his son had entered into the science fair and wanted to build a windmill for powering up a outdoor water pump, so we designed for that. We all had great fun in building it!!
