Harboor Freight 45 Watt Regulator
« on: October 03, 2007, 01:29:14 PM »
Good Morning All

I need help from someone that has one of the Harbor Freight 45 watt solar panel systems.

I got one to run the fans in my solar lumber drying kiln. When I took the regulator

out of the box, I heard something rattling inside it. I don't  want to take it back because it's 90 miles one way!!!

I opened it up and found this capacitor and 2 small solder balls rattling around in there.

Can somebody tell me where the capacitor is supposed to be hooked to???????

If you have never opened it up before, look at the pictures here.

Just unscrew the 2 top screws on the front and rear panels, and the top will

lift off.

Do not touch the screws on the sides. They hold heat sinks on the transistors.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

The best way to "kill time" is to work it to death!
