Diversion and dump loads, the same thing?
« on: February 19, 2015, 01:38:21 PM »
Are they the same thing, or is there is there a difference?
Perhaps Diversion Load should be added to the wind power tems glossary?

I regard them as broadly equivalent from the point of view of the RE system itself, though a 'diversion' might do something useful with the energy such as heating water or taking an appliance off-grid, whereas a 'dump' may simply dissipate the energy into the air without any use being made of that energy.
