I've converted a bunch of motors & I'll most likly convert a bunch more. A few years back I started collecting all kinds of motor from all those free sources. I've got well over 500 now.
Many are not as good as others for conversion. Mainly 2 pole. 2 pole are 3450 rpm and as such need farly high rpm as a wind genny. This is not a good combo.
However I'm flying a 2 pole at my store and it does quite well but its real bumpy.
That is in low wind you can see its amp metter throbing. I think though batteries like this "pulse charging?).
Most 2 pole have very small diameter bore. Not the one I'm flying at the store though. I used 6 curved NEOs on this NNN, SSS.
I was looking for a solvent to remove magnets from things liks dc motors and speaker baking plates. Someone had suggested Accitone. I tryed that and I had a 1 gallon can carborature cleaner with the basket. The carb cleaner worked good the accitone didn't.
I had placed a 1/3 HP garbage disposal motor stator in the carb cleaner. This is the high rpm dc type motor. Just the outer casing and its 2 magnets went in the carb cleaner.
I left them in over night. Today I just pushed the magnets out of the housing.
There just happened to be a 2 pole motor stator right there. So just for fun I set them in the 2 poles bore and they fit nicely.
So I'm going to use the curved ceramics in this 120 volt, 2 pole, 3450 rpm, 14.4 amp motor to see if it makes as much power as my Lowes ceramic disc dual rotor alt?
The race is on?
I'm building the armature from the magnet pole pieces of 2 old junk subs.
Heres a few pics.

Here is the doaner ac dc garbage disposal motor. I've tryed these direct but they need too much rpm and they don't have a good shft for blade mounting.

Here are the 2 magnets I pulled out after soaking over night in carb cleaner.
